Speeding in Ahead of the Podcast

Hey everyone, Rob here with some quick previews into the upcoming podcast! Our second episode, due to hit the interwebz on April 4th, is based on the DC Comics character The Flash, my personal favourite superhero! In honour of the Scarlet Speedster, I'll be making some blog posts in the weeks leading up to the release, detailing various aspecs of The Flash that didn't make the cut into our podcast!

So here's the first preview for everyone!

All superheroes draw their powers from somewhere. Superman is powered by the yellow Sun, the X-Men have mutated genes, our boy The Flash draws his powers from an extradimensional, mystical energy known as THE SPEED FORCE!

The Speed Force is vaguely defined throughout the pages of The Flash, new discoveries are added continuously and no one knows the true nature of the all powerful force. One thing we do know is that The Speed Force is an energy that powers most speedsters in the DC Universe, though ret-conned several times, as most things in comics are, this fact has stayed the same.

The Speed Force serves as more than just fuel to keep The Flash on his feet. If a speedster runs too fast, pushes himself too hard, goes into Terminal Velocity, he'll be absorbed into The Speed Force, and will be gone forever (until the universe decides it needs them again ... or if you're Wally West, who can never truely be killed).

It has also been recently discovered that Barry Allen, the second Flash, and greatest man to bear the name, powers The Speed Force. When the bolt of lightning struck that rack of chemicals, dousing Barry in the electrically charged substance, not only did it give him superspeed, but it created The Speed Force. Every step that Barry Allen runs generates Speed Force, which is then used to power all the speedsters, past, present, and future. Heavy.

Well that's enough rambling for me today. If you want to take another look into The Speed Force, I suggest taking a look at this webpage:
http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/speedforce.html
It has great information on The Speed Force as well as anything else related to The Flash.

Also, just cause I like the article, check out The Top 10 Deaths of The Flash. It shows the ten longest times The Flash has stayed dead.

See you in a few days with more Flashy info.
Rob
